Rupert Scow

A member of the Kwaguilth Nation, Rupert Scow was born in 1957 in Alert Bay, British Columbia, a small fishing village on the Northern Part of Vancouver Island.

Rupert takes the Sisiutl (the double headed serpent) and the bear as his family crests. Rupert started to carve under the guidance of Wayne Alfred, Vince Shaughnessy, and Steven Bruce. Rupert comes from a long line of carvers and he has an innate talent and quickly mastered the art of wood carving.
