Pat Charlie

Patrick Charlie was born into a family of artists and started carving with his grandfather when he was just seven years old. He learned the old traditional ways of creating art and looking back now, he has been an artist for about 50 years.

He is a member of the Squamish Nation and has lived most of his life on the North Shore at the Capilano Reserve.

Pat is also a good painter and makes prints of some of his work.

He learned how to carve silver, gold, ivory and stone.

Patrick is a shy man, but if you get to know him, he can tell amazing stories about his life and the art.
